Experiential Artist Spotlight: Todd Moyer

Todd Moyer is a trailblazing new media sculptor and installation artist whose work combines cutting-edge technology with artistic ingenuity. Specializing in projection mapping, kinetic sculpture, and innovative lighting systems, Todd has captivated audiences worldwide with his large-scale, immersive installations.

As one of the leading installation artists for Insomniac Events, Todd has created iconic works for events like Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Brazil, New York, Mexico, and Orlando, as well as Nocturnal Wonderland. Among his standout projects are a 37-foot rotating caterpillar, brought to life with intricate projection mapping, and a forest of 32 towering electronic daisies that danced with light and color.

In 2017, Todd brought his visionary approach to stage design, crafting a touring stage package for Miami-based electronic music duo Good Times Ahead (GTA). This innovative setup toured nationwide, elevating their performances with dynamic visuals and interactive elements. Beyond festivals, Todd has been the lead technologist for some of the industry’s largest projection-mapped stages at high-profile conferences.

Recently, Todd served as the Technical Director for Arboreal, a breathtaking 2,000-square-foot interactive installation at the National Children’s Museum of England, designed to inspire wonder and engagement.

Before establishing Todd Moyer Designs in 2014, Todd spent a decade as a designer at NextEngine, where he played a pivotal role in bringing the world’s first desktop 3D scanner to market. Now based in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Todd’s studio focuses on experiential design at the intersection of art and technology.

Central to Todd’s philosophy is the belief that joy is a powerful gateway to deeper conversations about culture, history, and our relationship with the environment. His work transforms spaces into experiences, creating connections between objects, viewers, and the world around them.

Todd Moyer plays a pivotal role in shaping CarbonShack's products and aesthetics. His expertise in crafting intricate die-cut patterns in mycelium products, paired with his artistic ingenuity and innovative techniques, elevates our designs.
